Everyone is welcome - singles, couples, friends or families. You do not have to live locally. We have parking reserved for handicapped people at the Lakeside Carpark. There is a sealed, wheelchair-friendly path from the Lakeside Carpark to the Carols site and we reserve a small area of flat land, at the front of the crowd, for wheelchairs.
Yes, there are no entry fees and no parking charges.
There is parking at Emerald Lake Park for several hundred cars. Usually, that is enough but, of course, at an event like this, it’s impossible to be sure. Car pooling is a good idea. So is catching the special Puffing Billy “Carols Express” from Emerald. Puffing Billy offers a special reduced price for the trip from Emerald to Emerald Lake Park and return after the Carols – see their website from about November 1.
The event is outside and it is usually cooler in the hills than in the Melbourne suburbs - so wear something suitable for a cool evening. Bring a torch, a blanket or folding camp chairs to sit upon. A picnic is good. The local Rotary group sells sausages and the like and the Puffing Billy Café is open for larger meals.
Definitely not, whilst Christmas is an important time for Christians, this event is inclusive of everybody. It’s about community, not any specific groups.
Around 9:30pm.
